Wine Profile
Winemaker Notes
Superlatives fail to describe this wine, but we’ll try anyway. As dark as a Syrah this complex wine loaded with all spice, clove and juniper berry is all Pinot. After the spicy aromas the palate is as equally aggressive and starts out with cigar box, black cherry/raspberry which finishes with dark chocolate. Even with all this the wine is supple, silky and refined. I’ve said this before but it bears repeating, this Pinot is unique to all others yet retains extraordinary varietal character.
Vintage Notes
The Vintage: The Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast have hit the trifecta with another superb vintage in the last three years. And another growing season following suit with a perfectly balanced crop to vine vigor ratio. A mild summer with very little heat spikes the harvest came in during the mild month of September with spectacularly looking fruit. The beautiful clean fruit taken in during harvest posed no hitches during the fermentation process which has yielded just as beautiful wines.
