It proves nearly as forthcoming on the palate, with a luxurious elegance, texture and polished feel of juniper berry, allspice, red raspberry, vanilla and floral spices.

91 Points - Wine Advocate

"The dark ruby/purple-colored 2012 Pinot Noir Freestone Station (250 cases produced) possesses abundant notes of black raspberries and black cherries intermixed with a subtle hint of oak, a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, a fleshy texture, good acidity and silky tannin. Long and impressive, it should evolve nicely for a decade."

Wine Profile
Winemaker Notes
The aromas of this wonderfully elegant Pinot are all at once deep, ripe and intensely varietal. Pouring forth in a cascade of hazel nut, red raspberry, vanilla cream scents over quieter notes of white pepper and lead pencil/minerality. It proves nearly as forthcoming on the palate, with a luxurious elegance, texture and polished feel of juniper berry, allspice, red raspberry, vanilla and floral spices. Picks up weight and becomes more intense as it airs, this is going to be a truly memorable Pinot.
Vintage Notes
There is very little to say about this dream vintage that has not been said. This textbook vintage couldn’t have come out any better if drawn up on a blackboard ahead of time. A warm spring for set and a warm summer sans the requisite excessive heat, even ripening all the way to late September/mid-October made for a combination of high yields (even after multiple passes of dropping fruit) and yes yielding high quality, powerful wines. This vintage eschews the notion of better wines coming from lower yields.
