Each Spring and Fall we release our Pinot Noirs from Sonoma Coast and Russian River, as well as some vineyard designated specialties.
In keeping with the Burgundian tradition, we also source Chardonnay from Sonoma Coast and Russian River, and offer some vineyard designated wines each year.
Ok, so this isn't a Burgundy varietal, but it's a tastey one. And it thrives in the Russian River Valley where we source our fruit.
Vin Gris, the French expression—which translates literally as “grey wine”. The wine is the by product of the table Pinot. As each lot of Pinot comes into the winery some juice is syphoned off (the French refer to this process as saigner or 'to bleed') in order to create a higher solids to juice ratio and then the juice is put to stainless tank where it is fermented very cool. When the wine is dry it goes to bottle within a couple of months to capture the bright fruit notes of this cool fermentation.
